#KEEPINTHELOOP INTERNATIONAL PHILANTHROPY
It has always been a dream of mine to travel to different countries to give back and to visit sister Rotary clubs.
I turned that dream into reality with this trip. For my readers, that have kept in the loop with me, you will know that I have been an active member of Rotary International for almost a decade now.
This month, I was fortunate to connect with some of my Rotary brothers and sisters in my father’s home country – Jamaica. The people are irie, the land is exotic, the food is phenomenal, and the vibe is just right. With welcoming vibes and open arms, the Rotary club of Ocho Rios reminded me of why I am so proud to be involved with a global organization that makes such a positive impact on millions of people and communities near and far.
As the Rotary meeting was called to order by the President, I felt like I was in my home away from home. Each member reminded me of someone from my hometown club. The current President, resembled my Rotary sponsor and carried the same name, “Orlando”. The District Governor, Oliver, was just as passionate as well as knowledgeable about Rotary as my hometown President, Claude. And the past president, James, was remarkably engaged locally and internationally with driving the operations of Rotary initiatives.
From the educational to the healthcare projects and programs this club collectively worked together to deliver, I was totally impressed. I am so inspired to do more in this big family of Rotary and connect with millions of like minded, genuinely selfless people whom are eager to change the world.
Curious about getting involved in Rotary? There is a Rotary club in every city in the world. How do you give back to your community?
